Create three unmistakable zones
Use keep, haul, and ask-first zones. Put the keep zone farthest from the exit and move high-value or sentimental items indoors. A verbal instruction is easy to miss once loading begins.
Remove restricted materials from the work pile
Set aside paint, fuel, chemicals, batteries, ammunition, and unknown containers for approved disposal guidance. Do not place leaking items in ordinary bags.
Photograph the final haul zone
A quick photo documents what you intended to remove and helps with a phone estimate. Open cabinets or boxes only when you have confirmed their contents can leave.
