Measure the machine and every turn along the route before the dolly arrives. Start with the route, separate anything that needs special handling, and use photos to replace guesswork.
Measure the unit at its widest points
Record width, depth, and height, including handles, hoses, hinges, and control panels. Do not assume the model listing matches an older unit or an appliance with added hardware.
Walk the full route
Check doors, hallways, landings, stair turns, and the final exit. A wide exterior door does not solve a narrow interior turn. Note floor surfaces that may need protection.
Confirm disconnection separately
Moving and disconnecting are different jobs. Gas, hardwired electrical, refrigerant, and plumbing work may require a qualified trade. Ask what must be completed before pickup and never improvise a hazardous disconnection.
